Eighteen years of running procurement and RFP processes for UK membership bodies — from 1,000-member societies to 60,000-member professional institutes — have left him with a consumer-report deadpan and a deep suspicion of the word “seamless”.

For Associations he runs the rankings wing: the top lists, the head-to-head comparisons, and the AMS market briefing. Every verdict he publishes is scored on the site’s published rubric — and every list includes the case against its own winner, because a comparison where one side always wins is an advert.

He has never accepted vendor hospitality beyond conference coffee, and intends to keep the streak.
