News, data & analysis for the people who run UK membership organisations

About Associations

An independent trade title for the people who run UK membership organisations.

Associations covers the UK membership sector the way a good trade paper covers any industry: with reported news, sourced data and analysis that takes a position. Our readers are chief executives, membership directors, heads of digital and operations leads at professional bodies, trade associations and membership charities.

What we cover

Three beats. Association technology — the AMS and CRM market, procurement, pricing and platform moves. AI in the sector — what the adoption surveys actually say, which tools do what, and how governance should work. And membership operations — retention, renewals, engagement and the unglamorous machinery that keeps subscription income arriving.

The board paper rule

Our house device: every briefing and analysis piece ends with "For your next board paper" — three takeaways written as lines you could put in front of trustees without embarrassment. If a piece of ours can't survive that test, we haven't finished it.

Independence

Associations is independently published. We take no payment for coverage, rankings or placement; vendors appear in our lists because a published rubric put them there. When we cite a supplier's own claims we say so, and when a figure can't be verified we either write around it or tell you the vendor doesn't publish it.
